THE AGROECOLOGY MOVEMENT PLEDGE
Rooted in Earth, Nourished by Community; I stand with the global agroecology movement.
Recognizing that our food systems are entangled with the crises of climate collapse, biodiversity
loss, hunger, and inequality, I pledge to embody agroecology not just as a set of practices, but
as a philosophy of life.
I commit to:
1. Honor the Earth as Kin – “I will nurture the land, water, and biodiversity that sustain us.
I reject exploitation and embrace reciprocity – rebuilding soil, protecting seeds, and
farming because I believe that the future matters”
2. Center Justice and Solidarity – “I will stand with farmers, workers, Indigenous peoples,
women, and youth. I challenge systems that concentrate power, land, and wealth. I
labor for food sovereignty – where all communities shape their own nourishment.”
3. Practice and Spread Knowledge – “I will learn from ancestral wisdom and science alike. I
share skills freely – planting seeds of change in my garden and my community. I embrace
diversity: in crops, cultures, and paths to liberation.”
4. Act with Courage and Care – “I will resist corporate control, false solutions, and
greenwashed lies. I demand policies that support smallholders, agroecological
transitions, and fair markets. I protect our commons – land, water, seeds – as sacred
trusts for generations.”
5. Build the Movement – “I am one thread in a growing tapestry of resistance and
renewal. I link arms across fields, cities, and borders. Together, we cultivate hope where
empires sowed despair.”
In joining this movement, I pledge to walk this path with humility, persistence, and radical
love. We grow not alone, but rooted in community – until every harvest is just, and every
meal is freedom.
